Andrew Dodt is an Australian Professional Golfer with over 20 years of experience travelling the world and competing at the highest level. Highlights of his career include competing on the DP World Tour for 8 years and winning twice in that time, as well as playing in The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. Now based in Newcastle, Andrew is bringing that experience to every lesson and will help elevate your game with proven tour level insights and coaching.

Who's It For: If you're new to the game or have some experience but are struggling to shoot under 100 consistently, join a set of 3 x 1-hour group lessons that are designed for golfers who want to focus on the fundamentals. This session will focus on learning the correct grip, stance, and swing basics to help you develop the most important skill, consistency!

Within your private golf lesson, you can expect to take your game to the next level with personalised, one-on-one coaching whilst using the latest trackman technology.

9 Hole Playing Lesson

A primary focus on creating a positive, fun and engaging environment where your child can develop skills and confidence. Each lesson is tailored to suit the unique needs and goals of your child whether they’re just starting out or aiming to take their game to the next level.

Included in your lesson:
  • A warm-up to loosen muscles + explanation of basic golf stretches
  • Discussion of goals (e.g. improving swing, learning the fundamentals)

1. What do you enjoy most about coaching?
Giving someone a lesson and then watching the moment when everything clicks and they hit a shot they didn’t think was possible.

2. Best piece of golfing advice?
Good things happen from a good setup!

3. What made you want to pursue a career in golf?
I remember my grade 4 teacher asking the class to write down what we wanted to do when we grow up – I wrote down be a professional golfer. I played professionally for 17 years, and am now coaching and loving it.

4. Favourite achievement as a professional?
Playing the British Open in 2017 at Royal Birkdale and finishing tied 44th.

5. Lowest round as a professional and where?
61 (-11) at Twin Creeks Golf & Country Club during the 2nd Round of the 2019 NSW Open. (Course Record)

6. Favourite golf course?
Sentosa Golf Club, Singapore

7. Favourite golf quote or mantra?
The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender.

8. Who is your golfing idol?
Ernie Els – I have always loved his swing and easy-going nature.

9. Favourite sport outside of golf and sporting team?
NRL – I love following and supporting the Newcastle Knights and have been fortunate enough to give some lessons to a few players.

10. What do you love most about Newcastle?
Newcastle is home! I love the people, the lifestyle, beaches, weather & golf courses. I wouldn’t live anywhere else!

Fun fact: Making 2x Hole-In-Ones in 1 round during the Nordea Masters in Sweden in 2013
